We’re full up on new Aussie releases this week. Melbourne band The Ocean Party have just released their new album ‘ Split ‘ while High Tails have debuted their new single ‘ Maps ‘ out through Jerko. There’s new music from acoustic songstress Kate Martin and Melbourne singer / songwriter Jimmy Tait bring us his slacker-pop single ‘ All My Friends ‘.
The flourishing local production scene continues to prosper with Adelaide producer Oisima copping a remix from Slamagotchi and a new track from Perth beat-master Ta-Ku (we’ve also slotted in his new remix on LDRU ). To make it that much sweeter, Flight Facilities have dropped a legendary rework of Jagwar Ma and Cassian has spiced up Owl Eyes track ‘Hurricane’ . While you’re at it, we also recommend you check out emerging unearthed producer Artis who has just released a debut EP filled with killer tracks.
The covers are coming at us big time, with The Kite String Tangle taking on Lorde , Say Lou Lou brining us their take on Tame Impala and international breakthrough act Chvrches have released a cover of Whitney Houston ‘s power anthem “ It’s Not Right But It’s Okay” .
There’s plenty of treasures to stream in the playlist below (and in our side bar) all week – if you’re in the mood for something a lil’ more up-tempo, check out our featured Listen Out playlist and slot yourself in the draw to win a double pass ticket to the Melbourne event.
