It can be a fine line at times between painful pop music and a high replay valued dance track, especially when the lyrics on paper are “ It’s the perfect night to get away!… Put your feet on the dance floor and show them what you’re made of, ” and “ Music’s gonna’ shake you, music’s gonna’ make you. “
The biggest difference here is that ‘ Feel Like Movin’ ‘ is recorded by The Juan Maclean , one of the most influential New York City artists from DFA to transition from a traditional band in the format of say The Rapture to a more heavy snythesiser territory in the mid 2000s, opening the door for the current acts such as Cut Copy , Holy Ghost! and Hot Chip .
Their career hasn’t been as globally notable as other artists mentioned simply because their overall sense of direction is unsure, despite being very able to write great hooks and tracks such as ‘ Happy House. ‘ Album consistency is holding them back.
‘Feel Like Movin” is almost flawless from a techinical stand point. Every bar runs the perfect length. Nancy Whang from LCD Soundsystem lyrics are light and playful. The hooks are so simple and instant that they all sound like famous samples compiled together and like any truly satisfying dance hit – the tracks runs over 8 minutes ensuring enough time to really get lost in its rhythm.
The only tiny issue is the tracks lack lack of progression, choosing to loop around like a DJ set, but this could all be part of the bigger plan for next years follow up to 2008′s The Future Will Come .
