Melbourne artist Fractures (AKA Mark Zito ) suffered some set-backs earlier this year, with his quick emergence slowed by an accident that left him with a fractured neck (an unfortunate coincidence). Last night the Melbourne multi-instrumentalist proved that he’s back, with the release of his new single ‘ Cadence’ .
Leading with a smokey Chet Faker- like organ progression, we are re-introduced to Fractures swooning vocals that glide over a layered instrumental. Guitar chords are plucked, sprinkling over soft claps and ricocheting clicks to drive a steady, but unassuming momentum throughout the song. These elements combine to create a deep tone, that further defines Zito’s distinguishable sound.
