“ Clair De Lune (feat. Christine Hoberg) ” as a piece of music is far more subdued and muted compared to Flight Facilities ‘ prior work. Each element that is built on in this new song is like the emerging levels of light present at the breaking of dawn. Flight Facilities are a diverse duo and consistency is continually found in their craftsmanship and innovation rather than being anchored to a particular sound per se.
Returning to a female vocalist once more, with Christine Hoberg , it’s a 7 and a half minute adventure into the depths of your soul. This latest track is somber and dark edged and reminds me of a modern take on my childhood wind up music box with Christine’s voice the embodiment of feminine purity and fairytales. In the final half you are overwhelmed with the way her voice coupled with the music drags you under like the waves on a rugged ocean beach.
Flight Facilities who are currently on tour in Europe will be performing at The Prince Bandroom in Melbourne on 8th December.
