The latest single from Elizabeth Rose is a statement as much as it is a killer dance track. Listening through her growing catalogue of glossy pop, you can track the journey she has taken taken to explore and develop her sound.
‘The Good Life’ is her deepest and heaviest original release yet… and It’s pretty bloody good.
Having providing guest vocals for Flight Facilities , Dr Don Don and Frames she is obviously no stranger to the processes involved in creating a killer dance sound. Her debut EP ‘ Crystallise’ , also featured a collaboration legendary UK producer Sinden. While there has been a deliberate move towards producing pop music with strong dance rhythms – none of her original tracks (at least from ‘ Crystallise’) have the same electronic tone that is delivered on ‘The Good Life’.
Here, Rose steps up to co-produce with Cameron Parkin and Styalz Fuego to create an overall sound channels the likes of Disclosure , AlunaGeorge and others leading the IDM movement. Deep house beats speed below smooth synths, clicks and house cymbals that underscore her sassy vocal performance.
The song is apparently about leaving home and working out what you want in life – so this forward step into the deeper depth of her electronic genre is a perfect compliment. It’s a landmark track for Elizabeth Rose that further cements her as one of Australia’s leading female electronic artists.
‘The Good Life’ is out on 26 August – follow Elizabeth Rose on for more and stream her debut EP ‘ Crystallise ‘ below.
