Disco is making a bit of a comeback lately, with the 70-80′s dance-floor favourite even infiltrating Daft Punk ‘s newest release featuring Pharell Williams . Also partial to the lure of the disco sound are Melbourne boys The Vaudeville Smash . Their previous releases are drenched with the genres upbeat brightness and their latest single ‘ Don’t Say A Word ‘ is no exception.
Having just returned from SXSW in Texas, the band are off and running with the first single off their debut album set for release on May 3rd. ’Don’t Say a Word’ has all the characteristics of The Vaudeville Smash’s unique style (funky 80′s , catchy melodic hooks, upbeat instrumentation and original lyrics). The track features nice tight harmonies, bright disco pop synths, and jangly guitars that gives it an indie pop edge.
