Polo Club first brought us their new-wave electro hip-hop twist to dance tunes on their 2009 debut The 13 . S ince then Polo Club have played the stages of festivals like Good Vibrations , The Hills Are Alive , and Parklife . Now the Melbourne boys bring us their latest release, a four track EP titled Live For Tonight.
The title track is a killer dance one I’d love to experience live. ‘ She’s a Pro ‘ is a mellower track, but it’s the little features that really make it, like the drum fill mid song that proves drums can be just as important as obviously pitched instruments. They have quite an imaginative take on mixing dance and hip hop traditions, which gives the sound a constant buzzing energy and makes the perfect irresistible dance track. Each tune has been packed to its limits and beyond, presenting everything from soulful house beats scattered with sporadic clicks and breaks, to a powerful 80′s saxophone solo, and just when you think they’ve hit the limit, a funky bass or a female voice pop up in the mix.
