Chilean ‘ blue-wave ‘ producer Nicolas Jaar has unveiled a new remix of Grizzly Bear’s 2012 hit single ‘ Sleeping Ute ‘ this morning.
Coming in at just under 8 minutes, his epic rework gradually unfolds from dark soundscapes, revealing more and more layers at each twist and turn. In true Jaar form, samples from the original are cleverly manipulated alongside low tempo beats which at times have a bit of a reggae feel about them. Oriental samples add an extra sparkle which seem to glisten above the crisp production.
There’s something about the surreality of Jaars music that I just can’t get enough of and this new remix does not disappoint.
