Akouo’s remix maintains most of the character and charm of the original. There’s no major structural changes that really grab you. However, nice drops and more progressive elements elevate the original and take it in some fresh directions. Notably, the psychedelic sampling work creates a rushing sense of momentum over the clean jagged drum line. A nice clean break after the 2min mark is effective in spacing up the song, and an inevitable build climbs to a nice drop that highlights Flumes work rather than attempting to re-create it.
