Every song released by Flight Facilities is unique from its predecessor. And I love that. One thing that remains constant, however, is the consistent quality and adventurous nature found in their musical compositions and lyrics. Their latest track, released today, “With You feat. Grosvenor” is another impeccable music moment for this Australian duo. Not being entirely patriotic myself, I am damned well proud to share citizenship with this pair who consistently wow us with their musical releases. And how could you not be proud, given prior gems like, “Crave You ft. Giselle” and “Foreign Language” .
“With You” is the first song I have noticed to use teasers leading up to the release to gain hype and excitement. Let me emphasise ‘I have noticed’ – as I am well aware that this is nothing new. But it bloody well worked. I set four alarms on my phone for today, fearful I would forget. Yes I may be a bit cautious and it is very doubtful that anyone else did the same. However, my point is: I’ve never been so excited for a new release. I highly suggest getting this song on proper speakers. The baseline is bangin’. Listen up kids – I’ve already replayed this baben’ beat several times in the last 10 minutes.
The video clip is anime awesomeness and further elaborates the story behind the song… infidelity. ‘I just can’t be seen with you’ being a prominent feature in the song. A bit of a twist on the usual female vocal selections. This time round we hear the vocals of Grosvenor. Even though he’s a singer in his own right, the main reason you will have heard of him is in his role as drummer for Hot Chip. He was even likened to Phil Collins and my fave, Erlend Oye , by triple j’s Linda Mariogliano . A very high honour in my books. But on the whole this electro number has me pretty pleased.
If you are lucky enough to have Foxtel , Channel [V] they aired the video clip of this song at 4pm. Alternatively, triple j are airing it for the rest of us at 6pm. I will definitely be pumping it.
