There’s been an abundance of new music over the past week, making for a solid picking of sweet music.
Some huge Aussie names prove just how healthy our local scene is at the moment. Alison Wonderland teams up with Fishing for her first original track, Perth band Sun City bring new catchy pop and Andy Bull delivers another huge tune on the back of his recent single ‘ Keep on Running ‘ and a roumered second album out through his new US label Republic Records .
Club Feet make it back in to our playlist, this time it’s in the form of a remix from our mates Panama who you might remember from our first birthday party in Feb. They’re joined by the likes of Flight Facilities (damn, them some disco vibes) and a great new track from Melbourne band Dancing Heals called ‘ Raise The Dead ‘ . Another great Melbourne band not to miss is Elephant Eyes who this week released their new song ‘ India ‘ ahead of a self-titled EP out on July 18th.
There’s some heavy international hitters that aren’t to be missed. Notably, Duke Dumont has a new song out this morning featuring MNEK called ‘ Hold On ‘ and M.I.A is back with a whacky new obscure song . It’s also great to see a new track from a hugely underrated band out of London called Eliza and The Bear . I’ve been following them since their release of ‘ Trees’ in May 2012 (a track which no-longer exists online) which made it in to my favourites of that year. They’ve just unleashed a new track called ‘Friends ‘ which features a similar style of epic acoustics, pop and folk.
We’re pretty stoked to be streaming this massive assortment all week on The Ripe. Stream the playlist in the right hand side player THE RIPE or in random order below. If you’re looking for more, you can stream last week’s playlist here and stream our latest Ripe Guest Mix with Airworlf .
