It’s been 8 months since Bodhi from Cardiff in the UK dropped the bassline burner ‘ Deliquesce ’, but before I get into why the duo’s return track is equally as addictive, I have to mention the strange moment at the 2:55 mark. The sound completely cuts out and the track appears to skip like a CD. I’m wondering why would they do that? Thankfully, they regain the momentum lost in that moment at the 3:15 mark and all is quickly forgotten.
It’s no secret we’re fans of Sydney label Future Classic here. They’ve helped release work from two RIPE choices Classixx and Jagwar Ma . Wave Racer who performed at our BLOOM I event in August, as well as Hayden James who sat down with us for an interview. Oh yeah, and some guy called ?
Bodhi teaming up with the emerging juggernaut was always going to be intriguing and ‘ Imperfection ’ doesn’t disappoint. It’s full of chopped up, soulful vocal samples that flirt with another heavy, infectious bassline, which is becoming Bodhi’s signature move. They then finish off the track by sprinkling a light snythesiser over the mix like sweet icing sugar.
