Ten bucks can go a long way these days in the world of digital music. And that’s just how much Ta-Ku’s latest compilation will cost. Money well spent in our opinion.
Ta-Ku’s REϟWRK Volume II is a collection of beats, remixes and tracks he’s put together since, well, Volume I came out. It features a mix of originals and some high profile remixes his put out over that last 12 months across a range of genres.
‘REϟWRK Volume II’ listens like a tapis selection of Ta-Ku’s instantly identifiable sounds. It has everything from the trap-loaded and bass heavy drops on tracks like ‘ Twurkit ,’ ‘ Miami (OneForCraze) ’ and ‘ One Thing About Footwork ’ to the more melodic and tripped-out numbers like ‘ Hey Justin Pt.II ’ and ‘ Ciarabuble ‘.
Ta-Ku’s sample heavy roots are obviously still a major factor in the Perth local’s production style. Many of tracks on the compilation feature recognisable grabs and snippets of popular RnB and hiphop tracks as well as few more obscure numbers.
His sample work has been put into good use in the remixes featured, including Cosmo’s Midnight , JMSN , Sango and a massive Justin Timberlake remix all get a gig.
Ta-Ku is one of Australia’s producers who continues to push the boundaries of what he does through constant experimentation and a sheer massive volume of output. REϟWRK Volume II is a perfect example of this and is available on his site via Bandcamp now.
