Unless you’ve had a busy couple of weeks and haven’t had much time to listen to new music, it’s very unlikely that you’ve missed this new track from Brookyln’s Jean-Philip Grobler aka St. Lucia - it’s everywhere online.
‘ Elevate ‘ is full of conviction in its message, a striking combination of Yeasayer ‘s afro-beat and local synth-pop band Strange Talk . The track shifts into another gear half way through and then takes off at the end when the trumpet kicks in.
This isn’t the first time St.Lucia has displayed the ability to elevate tracks towards their conclusion after last years dynamic combo of ‘ Before The Dive ‘ & ‘ We Got It Wrong ‘. The buzz continues to build leading up to Jean-Philip Grobler’s new album When The Night , due October 8th.
