12:12 AM Thursday Morning – I OH YOU X CONVERSE HALLOWEEN HOUSE OF HELL
The scene had been set for absolute mayhem, as Drunk Mums , Twinsy and Dune Rats all impressed the willing and very loose crowd. But then things got really messed up when Violent Soho took to the stage, inciting a 40 minute riot in the heart of The Workers Club bandroom. I highly doubt that The Workers Club has seen anything like that before. Barmen were standing on the bar to get a glimpse as the crowd took over the stage, swarming around lead singer Luke Boerdam like a pack of wild animals.
From the outset I knew I was in for one of those nights. One of those nights where you can’t wipe the sweat from your face, one of those nights where the bloke next to you is smoking a doob, but I didn’t think it would be one of those nights where a chick jumps off a speaker stack onto the front man and surrounding stage crashers. The entire band fell to its knees, only to be helped up by their batshit crazy fans that had caused the collapse in the first place. By the end of the night I wasn’t quite sure wether people were bleeding because of multiple head wounds, or because of the zombie makeup.
The Ripe film crew struggled through one of the most frantic mosh pits they have ever seen in a 200 person capacity bandroom. We hope you enjoys this, as we are severely injured, battered and bruised for what was one hell of a night.
