St Lucia really does make my job very easy sometimes. Trawling through my Facebook Newsfeed this new music offering caught my attention, which is always damned exciting. Can I just say I’d love to be friends with St Lucia! His network of friends are very talented – where does one apply? This Brooklyn duo, Haerts , are no different, despite having next to no written prose on them out there on the interwebs. Which is surprising, especially given their fresh faced composition, “ Wings ” and undeniable talent. I’d describe their lead vocalist as a 21st century Stevie Nicks ( Fleetwood Mac ) and their aesthetic as electro folk pop.
The beginning of the song feels a lot like music St Lucia himself would create and I’d love to know if he had anything to do with its production. However, as their lead singers voice rushes to the surface much like a surge of ocean water to the shoreline of a beach, their true identity is uncovered. And it is remarkable and it shimmers along in the most fantastic way. If “Wings” is anything to go by, I have no doubt this Brooklyn project will be creating exceptional creations in the future.
