Forgive me, but I totally have a thing for nasally, gritty, boogery vocals and unapologetic indie pop rock.
Good-time jam band, Grouplove haven’t been too far from our thoughts since their 2011 release, Never Trust a Happy Song. Now, new banger ‘ Ways to Go ’ has dropped off their upcoming album, and it (and its accompanying video clip) is sure to plant them firmly back on the map.
You can feel the fuse slow-burning its way to the bomb at the start of this one, and when it hits, it really does so with a bang… and a pudgy little dancing Korean dictator.
The peppy, lively fusion of keys, synths, drums and git on ‘Ways to Go’ will do great things for all of your ‘gittin’ krunk’ muscles, and the clip will fulfil any residual, post-Gangnam Style urges you may have to watch largely non-sensical K-pop videos.
The new album, Spreading Rumours will drop on September 17, but in the meantime, the ‘Ways to Go’ clip is certainly worth a little listen and a watch.
