The lovely Owl Eyes has released the fourth single from her debut album Nightswim and it shows her growing musical and emotional maturity. Yay for angst, I love hearing that tang of pain in a pop song and ’Hurricane’ has a lot of it. One of the strongest songs on the album, the track utilises synth and the drum machine to create more intensity than her previous tracks. The dark lyrics paired with the super sweet voice of Brooke Addamo makes for a pretty cool track. Like both the album title and upcoming tour ( Nightbeats) suggests, the track has a late night, dreamy, sense of longing feel that will surely pull on the strings of lonely hearts around the country.
Electronic acts Willow Beats and Kite String Tangl e will join with Owl Eyes for the Nightbeats tour which is beginning in October.
