Fat As Butter is in it’s sixth year and to celebrate they have assembled a big line-up for 2013. The electronic aspect of this festival is monumental with huge internationals in Porter Robinson, Digitalism and Booka Shade all making an appearance. Ashton Shuffle, Peking Duk and Willow Beats are all repping the electronic scene for Australia, whilst Owl Eyes will be playing her unique brand of synth pop.
The line-up for me is a strange one. On the line-up three major genres are represented; electronic, hip-hop and indie/acoustic. It seems to be a weird mix, especially considering it is a one day festival. Will the hip hop heads want to be subject to Corby , and will the beats lovers want to be subject to Bliss N Eso ? It will be interesting to see how ticket sales fair due to the line-up and choice being fairly limited, compared to bigger festivals such as Big Day Out, and the line-up being that eclectic, compared to genre specific line-ups such as Laneway and Stereosonic .
