Yesterday we heard new music from Nicolas Jaar . The song is called ‘ Paper Trails ‘, and it is the second offering from his upcoming collaboration with Dave Harrington called Darkside .
‘Paper Trails’ is an emotive soundscape, much akin to that of Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds ‘ ‘ Red Right Hand ‘. If I was a publisher, this song would be my golden ticket (see ).
‘Paper Trails’ is a step in another direction for both Jaar and Darkside, creating a brooding soulful clash of bluesy riffs and deep baritone vocals as opposed to the much more electronic 11 minute epic first track ‘ Golden Arrow ‘.
Darkside’s full length LP, Psychic , will be out on October 8th through Nicolas Jaar’s Other People label.
