This morning Violent Soho released a video for their track ‘ Neighbour Neighbour ‘. The target demographic that Violent Soho are going for really punches you in the face on this one. It is obvious that the reformed direction of the band, under label I OH YOU, is heavily influenced by Californian surfer punk vibes based upon the “subtle” placement of palm trees, skateboards and long white socks.
Despite the cliché, you can’t help but draw a similarity to some of the late Pixies tracks. The swelling choruses are met with simple clean electric melodies. While it’s not overwhelmingly original, it’s refreshing to hear the 90′s grunge sound coming back.
‘Neighbour Neighbour’ has everything an angst-y teenager craves. We caught them live at I OH YOU’s ‘ Halloween house of Hell ‘ party.
