The Ripe Guest Mix with Tomderson

From the Northen suburbs of Melbourne, this month’s Ripe guest mixer is the strapping young lad currently making a name for him self in the Melbourne scene:  Tomderson

At only 18 Tomderson, aka Tom Anderson has already supported the likes of Flume , Starslinger , Miami Horror and Muscles . Known for his diversity in song selections, Tom knows how to play for any crowd at any of 20+ venues he’s played at around Melbourne. Although his first love lies with the tribal and moombahton sounds that have become the foundation of his well-played mixtapes.

In addition to his weekly gigs, a recent step into the realm of production (with a remix of L.A-based band Whit Arrows ) as well as upcoming gigs interstate, such as Nite Society in Perth, has tipped Tomderson as one to watch in 2012.

The Ripe guest mix with Tomderson is 45 minutes of uninterrupted, unashamed jungle/dance goodness. Music from the names including Douster , Hudson Mowak , Van She and even local acts like Swick and Lewis CanCut , all add to array of bangers to this month’s mix.

You can catch Tomderson at Cant Say every week, supporting Beni   8/6 and Mat Cant on the 15/6, or at The Liberty Social w/ Flume 16/6, The Rats relaunch 30/6 and at Nit Society , Canberra 27/7

TRACK LIST

with special comments from the man himself)

  • Dj Otto – Tierra Aztec

first heard this song in september of last year when one of my fav aus producers Lewis CanCut posted it on Scatterblog. jungle 3ball.

  • Phat Deuce – Bubble Di Sistem

Picked this one up a few weeks ago from the free mad decent project, Jeffrees. Real tropical. Great sound.

  • Joelito – All A Di Gal Dem (Dixone Remix)

Heard a DJ at a club play Dixone, and instantly went on his soundcloud to check out his tunes. This is a great dancey song.

  • Hudson Mohawke – Cbat (Grandtheft Edit)

Again, heard Melbourne DJ Play, play this a few weeks ago. Love HudMo and moombahton so this is awesome.

  • Douster – Don’t Need Nobody

This is a great kinda reggaeton, moombahton track from Douster.

  • Lewis CanCut – Crassula

Love Lewis CanCut’s stuff. This is my favourite song off his latest EP. Good to dance to, and a bit slower than normal dance tempo.

  • Wiwek – Totem

Got this one from Jeffrees aswell, which was a good pick up. Bit more of a harder jungle kind of track.

  • Swick & Tranter – Hocus Pocus

Great producers and good guys. I love the breakdown sound in this song. Swicks Pasta EP is one of my fav EP’s of this year.

  • Baauer – Harlem Shake

Heard this one in Rustie’s essential mix (as did a lot of people) and really wanted it. Then when it came out a few weeks ago i was all over it.

  • Usher – Climax (Flosstradamus & Diplo Remix)

Good remix of the original. This one is better to play out too.

  • Paparazzi & Saint – Stampede (Ava Rose Remix)

My friend Dylan found this one. Good jungle beat with monkey samples.

  • High Powered Boys – Udon

Love the breakdown right before the drop. Such a good sax sound, then a pretty bassy drop.

  • Slap In The Bass – Nada

I love every part of this song, jungle sound. Can be hard to play out, so thought I’d put it in here.

  • Mickey Moonlight – Come On Humans (Sam Tiba Remix)

Sam Tiba keeps making good tracks (as do most of the Club Cheval guys). This one is a bit more technoey, but I still like it.

  • Van She – Idea Of Happiness (What So Not Remix)

Probably my favourite remix I’ve heard in a long time. Every part of it is so smart. Great producers and great guys.

  • Astronomar – Y’all Know

I love this song. It’s so bouncy. I didn’t at first, but it grew on me. Infact I love this whole EP.

  • Partysquad – Go Down Low

My favourite song to play at the moment. So catchy.

  • Douster & Savage Skulls – Nicole

Really big drop on this one. I love it when Douster and Savage Skulls collab, something good always comes out.

  • Lewis CanCut – Get Low (Chico Ye Remix)

Another Lewis CanCut track, except remixed by Chico Ye. Chilled out Tropical sounding track.

  • Roby Howler – Do It (Hostage Remix)

The first time I heard this I lost my shit. I love the pitch bending vocal samples. Hostage is an awesome producer.

  • Liquid Rockz – El Delfin Bailando (Dixone Remix)

Another remix from Dixone. This one is fun.

  • Expendable Youth – Heyo!

Again, picked this one up from Jeffrees. I think it was maybe the first Jeffrees release. It’s great. Cool marching band sample.
