SQL & CHILD – EP preview

Outpost Recordings (which Funk D’Void calls his home) lets the music speak for itself. After nineteen impeccable techno and house techno releases, they have a very special EP on the way. This impending release from Child and SQL is cool and spacious interstellar sound; breaking news for all the right reasons.

For maximum sensory pleasure, I suggest that you hit play on the sampler now.

Some of you might remember Child’s enthusiastically received track ‘ Shame ’. The Melbourne artist has covered significant terrain since then. In January he released his Interplanetary EP in conjunction with mentor/UK techno veteran Funk D’Void. Now his partnership with Netherlands producer SQL has given fruits in a multi-styled EP. Their new work (name unknown), mixes energetic melodies with timeless beat structures. The second track deserves particular credit for blending buttery chords with slick and crispy snares and clacks. The stabs are addictive and if they aren’t enough to make you want more, the unusual metallic finish will win you over. If only we got a few more seconds after the break!

Definitely keep your eyes peeled on Juno/Beatport August 17 th to purchase/hear the full release. If you caught their set at Survivor last year you will definitely want a piece of this exciting duo. Also catch Child on September 20 th at Strawberry Fields Launch alongside Stimming and Kenny Larkin at Brown Alley .
