I once posted on The Ripe that triple j has alarmingly never played ‘ Wings ’ by Haerts - and they still haven’t, which is fair enough. But if ‘ All The Days ’ falls through the cracks, then something is seriously wrong.
I understand that a lot of New York bands these days seem to blend together, even their names are starting to sound the same (with the exception of a few vowels). That being said, one listen to Haerts will ensure that you don’t forget them. Lead by Nini Fabi ‘s soaring vocals, every song carries an M83 aurora in the form of a traditional dream pop chord progression. ‘All The Days’ just builds and builds on top of a warm sticky bass lines and tight marching drums.
I’m not sure how they’ll manage to maintain this emotive drive throughout a full length album, but I’m definitely curious after listening to ‘Wings’ and ‘All The Days’.
