This week, the Australian Independent Record Labels Association ( AIR ) dropped their full list of nominees for the annual Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards and The Ripe LOVES the line up.
In its eighth year, over 250 head honchos across our music industry judged the artists that make up this year’s list of nominees. They’ve given us a wide range of musicians to applaud that cover hip hop, punk, dance, electronic, rock, blues & roots and country music from Australia and overseas.
Some of our bets are on: Big Scary ‘s Luck Now , nominated for Best Independent Album; Vance Joy for Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year; Flume ’s self-titled debut album for Best Independent Dance, Electronica Album; and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard ‘s 12 Bar Bruise for Best Independent Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album.
Big Scary , Saskwatch , Violent Soho , RÜFÜS , Seth Sentry and Archie Roach will perform at the awards in October.
