As the chorus kicked in I instantly had déjà vu, but it didn’t take me long to remember where I had heard this track before. Throughout summer it was the lengthy centre piece song of their consistently delectable live show.
Although this version appears shorter (most likely adapting for radio play), it’s evident that World’s End Press understand that they can’t continue to rely on their live show because they’ve stepped up their studio production on ‘ To Send Our Love ’.
Despite being categorised as a snyth pop band, they’ve toned down the snyths in favour of a more traditional rock band sound. The guitars aren’t heavily peddle filtered, the bass guitar is grunting out of a real amp and you can hear the hi-hats, not sample drum pads. Not lost in the improved production is John Parkinson ‘s trademark (ascending to the sky) vocals.
Now stop teasing us World’s End Press and release your debut album already.
