Late last week he continued the momentum, dropping the latest single ‘ We Were In Love ‘. The track is one of 8 new releases which will appear on his ‘ Songs To Break Up To’ EP’, out later this month.
It seems Ta-Ku is exploring the use of more organic tones throughout his music. Rumbling strings frame ‘We Were In Love’, forming a pad that slowly shifts below Ta-Ku’s jagged beats, dramatic piano chords and a flickering vocal track. After the three minute mark, it really comes in to it’s own with beautiful electric guitar sliding over piano, pads and the vocal sample.
Everything about this dark and dreamy song feels cinematic and purposefully dramatic – forming a brilliant compliments to the emotional lyrical theme. ‘ Songs To Break Up To’ will be released on Digital/Vinyl through HW&W & Sunday Records - stay posted to for new tracks and updates.
