Sydney electronic trio Seekae have been flat out writing and recording their (yet to be named) third studio album, the follow up to their well established 2011 release ‘ +Dome’ . They are well recognised for their lush mix of synths, keys, percussion and exuberayting electronic elements.
For anyone who has witnessed their incredible live shows late last year, in which I was fortunate enough to experience, you would have gained an insight into the direction Seekae were taking. Vocals were added to previously released instrumentals and there were new songs that featured vocals as well. ‘ Another ‘ takes a stance and leads them further in this direction.
Dark synths echo out as “ Sweet release, sweet as surrender. Falling from my house, the view could not be clearer ” is enthusiastically and well sung. ‘Another’ possesses a slow and atmospherical build as the lyrics “ I want another girl ” signal the build up of layered electronic elements that rise and fall underneath the vocals.
After these vocals fall away, an incredible symphonic instrumental is established through heavy synth, crackling electronic elements and a simplistic yet effective beat. Everything falls away into a hazy orchestra based sound with lush synth, before a drum is struck signalling an end.
