Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon has teamed up with Minneapolis outfit Polica on their latest track ‘ Tiff ‘. The dark and bouncy synth-pop sound was unveiled at Coachella where Vernon suprised crowds by joining the band on stage.
The song winds through synth-pop and RNB elements where the Vernon’s voice adds subtle harmonies which escalate toward the end.
Polica have been popular with the Bon Iver clan since the release of their debut album, Give You the Ghost back in February 2012. The album features vocals by Bon Iver’s Mike Noyce on two of the tracks. In a 2012 Rolling Stone magazine interview with Justin Vernon, he spoke of Polica as: “They’re the best band I’ve ever heard.” … A pretty big claim.
