It is always refreshing to see new bands relishing in some well deserved success. In recent times MS MR and CHVRCHES have both garnered attention from music lovers globally due to the abundant blog love they have received online. Both acts have also toured, making their way to Australia which is an amazing feat considering neither of them has released a full length LP.
Now these young hotshots have crossed paths with Scottish electro pop act CHVRCHES remixing the song that made MS MR the success story that they are today. ‘ Hurricane ‘ is made a little less epic and a little more 80s synth pop. Whilst I like the brooding and attitude filled original, CHVRCHES have definitely done this song justice, combining a simple chord progression, jumpy drum beat and an assortment of laser like sound effects.
But then again I suppose it is hard to stuff up one of last years most catchy vocal hooks of 2012.
